After teaching for more than 20 years, seeing life-changing results never gets boring.
I still love that moment when someone walks into a session feeling nervous. Then something changes. Their posture lifts. Their voice gets stronger. Their smile gets bigger.
That is the power of movement.
That is the power of community.
That is the power of believing, “I can do this.”
At The Dancing Fighter, I help women and children build resilience, empowerment, and confidence through dance, martial arts, self-defence, motivational speaking, and performance.
And my message is simple:
Nothing is impossible! ✨
Why dance and self-defence work so well together
Dance and self-defence may seem like very different activities. One is often associated with music, rhythm, and performance. The other is linked with protection, awareness, and physical skill.
But both teach powerful life lessons.
Dance helps people express themselves. It improves posture, coordination, body confidence, and emotional wellbeing. It encourages people to take up space and feel comfortable being seen.
Self-defence builds awareness. It teaches boundaries, assertive communication, confidence, and practical ways to respond when something does not feel right.
Together, they create a complete approach to personal development.
Participants learn how to move with purpose. They learn how to speak clearly. They learn how to trust their instincts. Most importantly, they begin to see their own strength.
I love empowering people. I love showing them that confidence is not something reserved for someone else. It can be developed. It can be practised. It can grow with every step, every movement, and every challenge.

Supporting women across West Yorkshire
Women deserve to feel safe, strong, and confident in every part of life.
That is why I deliver practical, welcoming sessions for women-only groups, charities, community organisations, and people who may need additional support.
My work includes self defence instruction for women in West Yorkshire, with sessions adapted to the needs of each group. We can explore awareness, boundary-setting, confident body language, escape techniques, and realistic scenarios.
It is not about encouraging fear.
It is about building knowledge and choice.
It is about helping women understand that their voice matters. Their boundaries matter. Their safety matters.
I am passionate about creating an environment where everyone feels included. There is no pressure to be perfect. There is no judgement. We start where each person is and build from there.
This is particularly important when working with women who have experienced difficult or traumatic situations. Sessions must be handled with care, respect, and sensitivity.
I also admire the work of community organisations such as New Direction Services, which supports women and girls through empowerment, wellbeing, healthy relationships, and early-intervention work across Kirklees and West Yorkshire.
When organisations work together, the impact can be even stronger.
Confidence grows through connection.
Helping children find their voice
Children deserve to feel confident in the classroom, on the playground, at home, and in their communities.
Self-defence for children is not about teaching them to fight. It is about helping them understand awareness, personal space, boundaries, trusted adults, and safe choices.
We practise using a strong voice.
We practise saying “no”.
We explore how to notice when something does not feel right.
We learn how to create distance and move towards safety.
We also make it fun. Children learn best when they feel relaxed, engaged, and encouraged.
Dance adds another layer. It gives children a chance to express themselves creatively. It helps them work with others. It builds concentration, coordination, and self-belief.
I have delivered sessions in schools, children’s holiday clubs, community groups, and girls-only settings. I have seen quiet children become more vocal. I have seen nervous children take the lead. I have seen groups become more supportive and connected.
Those moments stay with me.

Every child deserves the chance to discover their inner strength.

Local programmes across Huddersfield, Kirklees, Bradford, Leeds, and Halifax
West Yorkshire is full of vibrant communities. From Huddersfield and Kirklees to Bradford, Leeds, and Halifax, there are so many opportunities to use movement and practical training to support personal growth.
My sessions can be delivered in schools, community centres, charity settings, workplaces, and other suitable venues.
They can include:
- Dance workshops for children, young people, and adults.
- Self-defence sessions for women-only groups.
- Martial arts workshops for schools and community organisations.
- Confidence-building sessions for charities and vulnerable groups.
- Children’s holiday club activities.
- Motivational speaking and inspirational assemblies.
- Corporate team-building courses.
- Performances and interactive events.
Every group is different. That is why I listen first. I want to understand the needs of the organisation, the participants, and the community.
Then I create a session that feels relevant, practical, and positive.
Experience you can trust
My background combines several disciplines.
I have more than 20 years of teaching experience. My expertise includes Filipino Martial Arts, kickboxing, Muay Thai, Kempo Ju Jitsu, boxing, and competitive Irish dance.
This blend gives me a unique perspective.
I understand the importance of technique. I also understand the importance of encouragement, creativity, and human connection.
As a Martial Arts coach West Yorkshire organisations can rely on, I bring energy and professionalism to every session. I also bring a genuine passion for helping people move forward.
My journey has taken me from martial arts training and competitive Irish dance to performance, motivational speaking, and community empowerment.
As a World Champion West Yorkshire communities can call on, I know what dedication feels like. I know that progress does not happen overnight. It happens through small steps repeated again and again.
That lesson applies to everyone.
Whether someone is learning a new dance routine, practising a confident stance, speaking in front of a group, or learning how to set a boundary, every achievement matters.

Building stronger teams through movement
The benefits are not limited to schools and community groups.
I also deliver corporate team-building courses for organisations that want to improve communication, trust, resilience, and morale.
Work can be stressful. Teams can face pressure, change, and uncertainty. Movement-based activities offer a fresh way to break down barriers and create stronger connections.
Participants can learn to:
- Communicate more clearly.
- Support one another.
- Manage pressure.
- Develop mutual respect.
- Build confidence outside their usual comfort zone.
- Approach challenges with a more positive mindset.
Dance and martial arts create shared experiences. People laugh together. They learn together. They encourage one another.
That can have a lasting effect long after the session ends.

Confidence is a journey
Confidence is not about never feeling nervous.
It is about learning that you can feel nervous and still take the next step.
Resilience is not about avoiding every challenge.
It is about discovering that you can recover, adapt, and keep going.
Empowerment is not about becoming someone else.
It is about recognising the strength that is already within you.
That is the message I share with women, children, schools, charities, community groups, and businesses across West Yorkshire.
You are capable.
You are valuable.
You have a voice.
You can grow.
Nothing is impossible!
